We are very particular with the quality of our jump mats.  Occasionally we have a mat rejected for blemishes or runs in the fabric.  As we also try recycle as much as we can, we cut the metal cleats out and reuse them in sewing.  Now we have found a great use for the polypropylene jump mat material.  Weed Block!

We utilize the waste mats around trees and bushes as a means of controlling weeds and preserving moisture.  It also works great in other areas.  We cut the mats in half and can put the straight edge against buildings and walkways to keep weeds and from growing.  These can be cut down in size or to various shapes to fit a small space.  The material can be held in place by the weight of the mulch or with long nails driven through it into the ground.
